Green Rose Philippine Version

I was not interested when the first time they aired this show, because of the heavy drama, the crying so loud, and the screaming was so irritable. I thought it was kinda over acting, specially with ANne Curtis voice, so high pitch and I find her acting lousy, so I skip watching this show and just watch Imortal, Mutya, and Minsan Lang Kitang IIbigin. Nevertheless, I give it a second shot last week and see how it goes. Still I find the first episode very dramatic, and I hate the screaming! geez! so I skip it and just watched the 2nd episode instead. I was surprised that I like it. And later on, I find myself hook on my laptop watching every episode of this drama series. I even skip the nicest day just to sit here and watch it, thats what I did on the Holy Week, while the kids are busy playing in the living room, mommy is having a Green Rose Marathon. lol. I will definitely include this in one of my everyday shows, right now Im still watching the previous episodes. Abs-Cbn surely never fail to entertain the viewers, all their shows are good and never boring. Im so glad I give it a try. If you dont know about this drama series check out ABS-CBN for synopsis, cast and episodes. Right now, I need to take the kids outside and have a bit of sunshine and fresh air, and maybe do a little bit of gardening.

Spring at Longwood Garden

The most beautiful garden that Ive ever visited. Its located at Kenneth Square, PA, an upscale neighborhood that is just right outside Philly. Its 2hours drive from our place and its worth going, even everyday! This place is so relaxing, just by looking at the magnificent trees and beautiful flowers will make you forget about your worries. I am so happy that we got a place like this here that is not so far away, if given the chance I would visit this place everyday. =)

This garden was founded by Pierre du Pont, sound familiar? Yeah he is one of the richest guy in history. He bought this huge property a long time ago to save the trees and decided to make it a garden in year 1901. Pretty cool huh?. to know more about its history.. click HERE

their ride : Power Wheels Jeep Huricane

Finally, they got their wish!
Hubby bought this a couple of weeks ago, after Claytons Bday. We’ve been meaning to buy them this last year, we waited for the weather to get nicer so they can enjoy it, and also read some reviews on which is the best one to get. This Jeep Hurricane Power Wheels from Fisher Price got the best reviews. =)

THey were so excited to ride it, specially JJ. THe little guy fell asleep after a few rounds around the yard. He must have felt like he was riding in a real car. lol, so funny. hehe. GOod thing he just let his kuya drive it, surprisingly he didnt fuss. =) .
Hubby bought this Jeep at TOys are Us. Its original price was 430 but we got it for 300 something(cant remember). It was On Sale, so we were able to save a few dollars, but I dont know if its a good deal, I still find it quite expensive. Hubby really love this little rugrats to buy them this toy car. I woudnt. lol (cory! hehehe)

Anyhow this Jeep is really cool, cause it can hold up to 130 lbs., that means I can ride on it. hehehe.. its just that my legs wont fit =(, I tried though. lol.

Here are the things that it can do:
* Can drive on ruts, grassy terrain, wet grass, gravel, mud, mulch and will never get stuck like other powered riding toys
* It got FM radio powered by 4 C batteries. really!
* got a cup holder for your child’s drink
* got a glove box to store stuff
* power lock brake system and
* high-speed lock out for beginners.
* 12volts battery and a charger is included in the package
pretty cool ha! i wish the headlights are real(not stickers), it would be fun if it got a horn to honk, and it needs a better seat belt that really locks. THe seat belt of this one are just a strappy velcro, that doesn’t work very much. We are kinda worried that Clayton might fell off from the Jeep, so we watch them closely if they are riding it. Instead of sticking the strap, we just tie it together tight, so he will be snug on his seat. =)

If you are thinking of getting your kid this kind of toy, heres some helpful tips to keep it forever:
* Never push or pull it cause this will damage the motor, will never run again.
* Never charge the battery more than 24 hours, maximum charging is 14hours
* Never run out the battery, if its starting to slow down, charge the battery right away. This will help the battery to last forever.

Baked Macaroni and Cheese by Alton Brown of Food Network

Yummylicious Baked Mac and CHeese. Thank you Food Network and Alton Brown for this recipe. We really enjoyed it! I cooked it as is, I just put extra salt to make it more tastier.

1/2 pound elbow macaroni
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon powdered mustard
3 cups milk
1/2 cup yellow onion, finely diced
1 bay leaf
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 large egg
12 ounces sharp cheddar, shredded
1 teaspoon kosher salt
Fresh black pepper

3 tablespoons butter
1 cup panko bread crumbs

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large pot of boiling, salted water cook the pasta to al dente.

While the pasta is cooking, in a separate pot, melt the butter. Whisk in the flour and mustard and keep it moving for about five minutes. Make sure it’s free of lumps. Stir in the milk, onion, bay leaf, and paprika. Simmer for ten minutes and remove the bay leaf.

Temper in the egg. Stir in 3/4 of the cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Fold the macaroni into the mix and pour into a 2-quart casserole dish. Top with remaining cheese.

Melt the butter in a saute pan and toss the bread crumbs to coat. Top the macaroni with the bread crumbs. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and rest for five minutes before serving.

Check out this video on how to make it. Happy Cooking!!

My Sloppy Joe

Special request for Dinner.
PhotobucketHere it is..
i used turkey meat instead cause its less fat compare to the beef, and loaf bread since we dont have hamburger buns. The guys love it as always. As for me.. I top it on my hot steamed rice. Its quite good really. Just add more salt and a bit of pepper to make it tastier, then I side it with sweet potato fries that I baked in the oven. yummy! thats easy cooking!!! 🙂

Special CHicharon

thats right!! its chicharon! lol. Hubby was out of town for a couple of days and when he came home the other day.. he told me that he was thinking of me and gave me a bag of goodies from the Family Dollar Store. Yep! He bought this from the family dollar store for only a dollar. I was surprised they have these in their store with different taste, spicy and regular. I like both of course!Smiley I had been getting this since last year and it taste much better than the one in the Filipino Store because it got meat. I sure love to munched this cracklings while watching my favorite shows online and my little guy loves it too, even the spicy one! lol Smiley. . Its so funny because Clayton would be like brushing his tongue with his hand and he would still want some more. I dont want to give him the spicy ones but he would cry if I dont. hmp. Anyhow if you dont know about this cracklings yet… you can find them at the Family Dollar Store. theyre pretty good!Smiley

get the habit of saving files to the external hard drive

Its been a while since I last updated this blog. I had been very busy running around some errands, preparing my sons bday party, shopping here and there… and cleaning the whole house. I got no time to sit still, relax and blog. Also my poor laptop was attacked with a strong virus 3 days ago, just right after my antivirus got expired. I have to wipe everything out and loaded everything back again. This really made me feel so sad, because I lost a lot of files that are very memorable to me. I tried to save it but the virus was really strong that it destroyed my I/O Device that cause it not to load my OS. Because of this incident Im gonna make it a habit of transferring all my files, photos, videos to the external hard drive as often as possible.
Hubby bought this My Book Essential of Western Digital(WD) from Best Buys last year, for a very affordable price. It is just 1 TB which is enough to hold all my photos, videos, movies and mp3s. I know there’s more bigger capacity now a days, tripled to what I got, still this 1TB is pretty huge for all that. The only problem is….hubby put this book upstairs in his office, attached to his computer. I dont like going up and down those stairs.. its very tiring. lol Lazy me. hahaha. Nevertheless I have to do it every week. =)

Claytons 2nd Bday Cake

It was my sons Birthday party last Saturday on April 16. This was his cake. A Mickey Mouse Airplane Chocolate whipped cream Cake. It was pretty good, everybody enjoyed it. I ordered it from Giant Food here in our area. It was my first time to order cakes from them. Before I ordered, I read the consumer reviews first, if its good or if its too sweet. I dont like cakes that are too sweet, because Im not that sweets person.
Their cakes are just right for my taste. I was thinking of a fondant cake cause it looks nice, but Im not a fan of fondants, I find it very sweet also, so I just settled on this cake. Im happy that I got this one, CLayton love the Mickey Mouse toy on it. The propeller really spins. He loves Mickey Mouse!

If you are thinking of ordering cakes from Giants, check this LINK. This are the list of their cakes for different occasions, birthdays, weddings, holidays and a lot more. I assure you, their cakes are good.
